Installed Carpet
Taking up carpet adds labor to the hauling. We review the rooms, attachment method and access before confirming what removal work is included. Glued-down carpet needs individual assessment.
Area Rugs and Runners
An unwanted area rug or runner can be picked up on its own or with other items. Large or heavy rugs may need two people, especially on stairs or through tight hallways.
Padding and Renovation Materials
Padding can be included with carpet. Tack strips, staples and other debris must be included in the agreed scope; a hauling quote does not automatically include preparing the subfloor for new flooring.
Removal Work and Floor Preparation
Before an installed-carpet job, we confirm whether the work covers carpet only, padding, tack strips or staples. Adhesive scraping, sanding, leveling, subfloor repair and replacement-floor installation are separate tasks and are not automatically included.
Furniture that stays in the room may need to be moved before carpet can come up. Discuss that work with us before booking so the plan accounts for heavy pieces and where they will go. We do not assume every item can be shifted within the same room.
If you are preparing materials yourself, keep sharp tack strips and staples contained rather than loose in the carrying path. Tell us about wet, moldy, pest-affected or otherwise contaminated materials before moving or cutting them so acceptance and handling can be reviewed.
Stairs, Elevators and Pickup Access
Carpet rolls can be long and awkward through narrow doors, tight turns and stairwells. The floor level, carrying distance and parking location affect the removal plan. For a condo or managed building, include any freight-elevator reservation, service entrance or loading window.
An accessible outside pickup may reduce carrying labor when the carpet is already removed. Agree on the location with us first; keep shared entrances and walkways clear. In-home removal is available for accepted jobs when taking the materials outside yourself is impractical.

What Affects the Price?
Installed carpet requires more labor than prepared rolls at the loading area. Room area, attachment method, padding, tack-strip work, furniture moving, stairs, carrying distance and material condition all affect the quote. Other unwanted items can be assessed for the same pickup.
Our Chicago-area starting prices provide a general guide; the exact carpet-removal price is confirmed for your job. Payment is due when the agreed work is complete, before the crew leaves. Pay by card through Square, Zelle or cash.
Where the Materials Go
Carpet recycling depends on the material, its condition and the receiving options available for the job. We arrange hauling for the accepted materials without promising that every carpet or backing can be recycled. Contaminated materials require advance review and are not treated as ordinary reusable rugs.
Carpet Removal Questions
Do I need to pull up the carpet myself?
No. You can request an assessment for installed-carpet removal, or book hauling of carpet that has already been taken up. The quote specifies which work is included.
Can you take glued-down carpet?
Glued-down carpet needs individual review because the attachment and floor condition affect the labor. Adhesive removal and subfloor restoration are not assumed as part of the hauling service.
Does the quote include padding and tack strips?
Only when those materials and the removal work have been included in the agreed scope. Tell us whether they are still installed or already separated.
Will you move the furniture that I am keeping?
Furniture moving can be reviewed before booking. We need an agreed plan for heavy pieces and where they will be placed; it is not automatically included in a carpet-hauling quote.
Can you take a rug with other junk?
Yes, an unwanted rug can be assessed alongside furniture or other items. The combined quantity and access are considered in the quote.
How soon can you pick up the carpet?
